“Xishan mountain is precipitous in four sides. It covers over 50kms lands with beautiful sceneries of streams, mountain, green trees, and etc. The peak is accumulated with snow in the spring.” Welcome to visit the mysterious and beautiful land- Hunan Xiyao Lvgu National Forest Park. It is located in the southwest of Linwu county where is adjacent to the border of Hunan and Guangdong province. The highest altitude of it is 1711.8meters, while the lowest is just 320meter. The overall planning areas are 12,441hectares. Its east gate is about 7kms away from the downtown of Linwu county and is about 10kms from the exit of Hengwu expressway, so its transportation is very convenient.

The five key scenic spots of the park are core scenic spot, Changhe, Fenshui’ao, Taoyuanping and Huangmu’ao. 68 tourist attractions which are with the features of “green, quiet, elegant, rare, grand, vicious, and ancient” are spread in this park where is with rich tourism resource.

The park is located in subtropical monsoon climate zone, so its climate is very comfortable. It is not only a natural summer resort, but also an ideal place for the forest ecological tourism in every season. 4054.4hectares well-reserved natural secondary forests are available in the park, covering 44% of the whole areas of the park. 1729 species, 787 categories and 213 families of vascular plant species have been collected out, 1515speciesm 699 categories and 175 families of which are spermatophyte. 3 species are first-grade state protection plants, 15 are second-grade and 20 are protection ones. There are 223 wild vertebrates available in the park, 201 of which are land vertebrates and 22 are fishes. 4 species are first-grade state protection animal and 29 are second-grade ones. It is also with abundant hydrology and astronomical phenomena sceneries. If we consider that the exotic flowers and herbs and rare fowls and animals are the spirits there, the water flows in the stream of the park is a flowing song. Chonglingshui and Wushui are the main streams of the park, both of which are the important drinking water resources of Linwu county. Fenshui’ao where is in the park is the watershed of Zhujiang basin and Xiangjiang basin. The south part of the mountain belongs to Zhujiang basin, while the north belongs to Xiangjiang basin. Some waterfalls are allocated along the rivers and streams in the park, which grant visitors a unique scenery.

There are also abundant cultural landscapes in the park. The mysterious and ancient Xiyao cultivated long-standing history and culture. Many poets wrote down their favorite poems there. People of Yao minority lived there for over thousand years and handed down their colorful Yao culture. Long-drum dance is one of the unique artistic treasures left by Yao’s ancestors. The original forest ecology and deep cultural connotation attract more and more visitors from domestic and abroad.
